What’s Missing?

The Munchkin: “Can we go get a haircut, and then go to the movies?”

Me: “No.”

The Munchkin: “Because they’re not open.”

Me: “Yes.”

Some of the things the munchkin learned to enjoy despite occasional sensory overload include: hiking, going to the movie theater/basketball games/live music events, swimming, and now apparently keeping his hair a certain length 😳.

Once I got myself together as a single parent, I set a goal to make the munchkins life as full as possible. I got my degree, became a home owner, got out of debt, became a fearless explorer, developed a better (still a work in progress 😅) sense of how to nurture and comfort.

Now this.

Finding comfort during times of uncertainty can be tricky. Along with photos from the very last hike the munchkin and I took together two weeks ago (all Texas state parks are now temporarily closed) on his 17th birthday, I’ve included quotes that I find comforting. Maybe you will too…😬

“If ever in doubt, do the loving thing, because that’s the right thing.”-Neville Goddard

“Everything that’s truly mine comes into my life effortlessly in the most magical and unexpected way imaginable, demonstrating everyday the power and love of who I truly am.” – Anita Moorjani

“And so, while we can’t change other people, we CAN make the choice not to let the opinions of a few jerks define how we view ourselves. We can choose to keep our heads held high. We can choose to find the lesson within the hurt, and we can choose to focus instead on what we have to give. Make that choice to bigger than your critics…..be humble, kind, generous, forgiving, encouraging, but most of all don’t be small.” -Ruth Soukup

“Go out and live your life fearlessly.” – Anita Moorjani

“Love yourself like you life depends on it, because it does.”- Anita Moorjani

“Self Care is also: ….standing in your own frequency, and letting other people rise up to meet you”- Guided Meditation &More on YouTube

“Life is like a dance, Miss, and we’re partners. Setbacks, delays, and detours? They’re like steps in the mambo, tango, and cha-cha. If you dissected the movements and saw them without the rest of the dance, everyone would look to be in great pain. But when you see the big picture… poetry in motion. In life, setbacks, delays, and detours are often just my way of “keeping” you for something way better. Don’t let them discourage you, don’t see them out of context, and whatever you do, don’t stop dancing.” -TUT A Note from the Universe
